One book contains two classic booklets by G.E. Arrowsmith in a single volume -- his 1942 text, Magical Mentalia, and his 1943 follow-up book, Magical Originalia. Both are surprising modern in their thinking and methods, despite being written 70 years ago. And although the titles would lead you to believe that one booklet is filled with Mentalism, and the other containing more General magic, there's a bit of both in each book. Arrowsmith definitely leans toward Mental magic effects, and also Card items. Both booklets are important parts of a serious magician's library, and this two-in-one volume makes it easy to get both of them at once! Undated later reprint, in perfect, mint condition. 133 pages in all. The other book is OUTS PRECAUTIONS AND CHALLENGES -- Charles Hopkins wrote this booklet in 1940, and for almost 70 years it has been essential reading for serious cardworkers. Hopkins deals with those times when things do not always go as planned, but rather than simply admitting failure and hoping the next trick will re-gain the respect of your audience, Hopkins discusses about sixty ideas for concluding every card trick you start SUCCESSFULLY! How to get OUT of a jam, overcome difficult CHALLENGES, and what PRECAUTIONS to take to minimize these problems. Even if you are perfect (like me) and never make misteaks...I mean, mistakes, you can get lots of ideas for interesting card revelations from this book -- yes, you can plan ahead and use these outs as part of an impressive planned routine.
