Someone could try to unscrew the bottom and see what could be wrong. Otherwise, these are still beautiful Thomas Kinkade houses. They are both in very good condition. The CHRISTMAS WELCOME house might have a small chip on the top of the tall tree, although it is very small. The bottom cover on this house has a piece broken off where the switch is but it does not affect the switch (see picture #8). There are no boxes but we have boxed each one separately with peanuts and then put those in a larger box. The shipping cost is the actual cost of shipping the item.
