Description: Up for sale is a three volume antiquarian set of The Complete Works of Shakespeare edited by Howard Staunton, illustrated by John Gilbert published by Routledge, Warne of London. Printed in 1862 this finely bound trio are a fabulous set to own and look great when on the shelf. All volumes show some wear to cover and spine including some loss. Volume 1 has low dog-earing from pages 561-570 as well as the back cover which has detached from the binding which is still tightly intact with the spine. The interior pages are very clean and the three titles are filled with many illustrations, they really are a wonderful set.
