Description: The Womans Magazine November 1915 Ruth Eastman Cover Art Fashion Plates Stories Antique Ads Magazine This lot is a monthly magazine for women called "The Woman's Magazine". This one was published in November of 1915. Beginning in 1891, Woman's Magazine grew to become one of the most widely read publications aimed at women in the United States by the early 1900s. The magazine catered to middle-class women, featuring a mix of practical advice, recipes, homemaking tips, fashion, short stories, and articles on contemporary issues affecting women. Of special note is the inclusion of multiple pages of fashion plates for women's clothing designs of that day. The cover of the magazine has a signed illustration by famous American illustrator, Ruth Eastman, She was active in the early 20th century and was known for her evocative and colorful depictions of female beauty. Though not as widely remembered as some of her contemporaries, Eastman made significant contributions to the field of illustration, particularly in advertising and magazine covers. The cover shows two beautiful women. One is wearing a full fox fur and the other is walking with a Borzoi, otherwise known as a Russian Wolfhound. The magazine is approximately 16" tall by 11" wide and has 48 pages. All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
