Description: Photograph of Cho-bah-begey, or The Wolf, Navajo by Carl E. Moon, ca. 1910. I sell an extensive variety of historic image reprints, restorations, cabinet card and CDV re-creations and am committed to the highest quality for imaging, design, hand-crafted production and customer service. My restorations are carefully produced to provide interesting and noteworthy historical images, eliminating a great deal of visual damage while preserving the age and vintage of the pieces. Stories by James Fenimore Cooper were a major influence on the young Carl Moon and fostered his lifelong interest in American Indians. Moon's images suggest a more sympathetic attitude towards his subjects. Studying photography right out of high school, in 1903 he moved to the Southwest, where he began to paint and photograph Native Americans in New Mexico. His striking portraits soon began to attract national attention, and President Theodore Roosevelt even invited him to the White House to discuss his subjects. In 1907 Moon moved to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, where he photographed for the Fred Harvey company.
