Description: Offered here is a vintage baseball print: "The Winning Run--'How Is It, Umpire?", wood engraving by Thure de Thulstrup, likely for the New York Daily Graphic. New York's Buck Ewing slides under a tag from Chicago White Stockings catcher Silver Flint to score the winning run in a 10-inning 1-0 game. The contest took place at the old Polo Grounds, August 6, 1885. A famous reprint also ran in the August 22, 1885 issue of Harpers Weekly and a later colorized print also exists. This example from D. Geurtze Graphics, Cooperstown, NY likely 1980's, approx. 20 1/8" X 16" - with a blank back!
