This is an early entry in the Lovejoy series (the 5th), which became a successful TV series on the BBC running from 1986 through 1994 starring a young pre-Deadwood Ian McShane; signed copies of the Diamond Jubilee edition are scarce. The Diamond Jubilee Collection consisted of twelve specially selected reprints of novels by favorite Crime Club authors which had been long out of print in hardcover.
