Description: #12 in the OZ series. This is a gorgeous hardcover with art by John R. Neill; published by Reilly & Lee. I am not completely sure about the publish date but it’s possible this is a First Edition from 1918; no other dates are printed on it. The brown boards are clean with moderate wear considering its age; the color print on front cover is lightly scuffed but the picture and colors still look good; there is an unfortunate small pencil mark just above the illustrator’s name. The spine shows a lot of wear and discoloration and shows breakage – see pics. Pages 26, 30, 36, 83, 107 have a small tear (see pic). There are many b/w pictures and I did not see a single stray mark; no crayon colorings on the pages, or a previous owner’s name. This was apparently “a thing” that children of that era did; I’ve seen many a beautiful book completed covered in childish crayon. I have owned this book since 2010 when I put on a removable mylar cover to protect it. Before me, it had been in a family for at least 40 years. If you’re looking for relief from the impersonal giant eBay stores - I run a small, personal-attention-type store. I always have the item that is described in the auction. Depend on my detailed description and pictures of the exact item you are bidding on and will receive. I will answer all your questions. Everything is wrapped carefully; books are wrapped in plastic wrap and bubble wrap. You will always deal with just one person – me. I have excellent feedback; you can bid with confidence. Thanks for dropping by. I wrap in plastic or bubble wrap and mail in a box. I always include a Delivery Confirmation for domestic shipments. Combined shipping costs may be available. Put all your choices in the ‘cart’ and then request a total and I will send you a revised invoice to pay. I describe to the best of my ability and experience. If you have any questions about the condition or description of the item, please ask before you bid. All sales are final unless I have mistakenly misrepresented this item. Payment is expected within 10 days or I can relist. Non-paying buyers will be reported to eBay. You can still pay me without having a Paypal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you’ll be automatically directed to a secure page in eBay checkout where you can enter your credit card information. This will also work if you don’t remember your PayPal password. OTHER INTERNATIONAL BIDDER INFORMATION: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up; they are not additional shipping charges from me. I do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
