There are 17 chapters in the "Columbus" portion of the book, plus a poem at the end. There is also an extensive list of the illustrations, which are pen and ink etchings that were printed. The "Columbian Exhibition" section of the book is not divided into chapters and is about 78 pages in length. It also has a poem at the end. The book measures 9 3/4 inches in height, is about 7.5 inches wide, and is 1.5 inches thick, a substantial volume. The book is in reasonably good condition, considering the age. The front and back covers are intact and have some small stains and wear around the edges. There is a short inscription on the inner cover. Other than that, there is no printing or marks on the pages, but there are a few minor spots and stains here and there on the first few pages.
