Description: Classic political philosophy book by Jean Jacques Rousseau. Published by Dent Dutton, as part of their "Everyman's Library" series. Printed in 1946, in accordance with Authorized Economy Standards, at a time when postwar shortages affected the quality of printed books. 269 pages. Small hardback book. 6.75" x 4.5" approx. 230g. Condition: Vintage book printed just after the Second World War, and in fairly good condition for its age, though not perfect. Pages are in good readable condition, but the book has been carefully studied, and there are pencilled annotations (mainly underlining, and lines in the margins). The covers are scuffed and rather bowed. Original owner's name and bookplate in the front, marked Ann Ball, Oxford, April 1946.
