Description: The Royal Scottish Academy, 1826-1916 Ex-Library Published by James Maclehose and Sons, Glasgow, 1917. This book is one of 180 copies of a special limited edition. This is copy number 65. Fair/Acceptable Condition hardcover book. Exterior: Tan cloth binding has some light soiling, corners rubbed through to the boards, spine has torn ends and a couple side tears, hinges cracked, cracked gutter behind the frontis. Small circular area on spine where a library number sticker was removed. Top of page edges are gilt. Side and bottom page edges are rough cut. Interior: Endpapers are clean. No library markings on the endpapers. First free endpaper has some writing in pencil top of page. Title page has some light pencil writing. "Frick Art Reference Library New York" has been punched into the top of the title page. Dedication page has a 1" x 1/4" area crossed out with ink and a short notation in pencil at the spine edge. List of illustrations has a short note in pencil referencing the removed plates and each illustrated plate removed is checked in light pencil. Six of the eight illustrated plates have been removed by the library. They were all portraits of the first six presidents of the Academy. No underlining/highlighting of text or other handwriting of any kind. 485 pages, including index. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
