Description: For sale is a vinyl record by The Roches titled "Speak", originally released in 1989 by MCA Records. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. In the dead wax between the labels and the last track is etched "Sterling GC", followed by the matrix numbers SM-1/SM-2, indicating that this record was mastered at Sterling Sound, N.Y.C., by Greg Calbi, before early stampers were used to make this record. These are hallmarks of state-of-the art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of some faint ring wear, shelf rubs, corner blunts and stress cracks along most of the edges. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts and in the middle there is color loss from stress cracks and rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent because of superficial sleeve marks, predominately on Side Two. I'm play-grading it as Very Good Plus because of some occasional low levels of surface noise and ticking at the end of Side One and in the middle of Side Two, most noticeable between tracks and during the quietest sections of playback. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection.
