THE PORCELAIN GARDEN LITHOPHANE/NIGHLIGHT FAIRY MOON

Description: Presented for your consideration, a lovey The Porcelain Garden Porcelain Lithophane Victorian Stand Accent Lamp. Lithophanes harken back to France, the early 1800’s, where thin-walled porcelain objects were sculpted then backlit softly illuminating the imagery. The Porcelain Garden Founded by Liesa Smith and Marty Kubicki in 1982, The Porcelain Garden’s initial creations were functional ceramics with floral themes hence the company’s name. Later, the artists were introduced to lithophanes by a collector which ignited inspiration for new bodies of work. Kubicki perfected the reverse pigmenting of the thin porcelain panels resulting in lithophanes with subtle colours as well. This piece, The Victorian Stand Accent Lamp, is inspired by the lithophanes that were produced in the early 19th century. Perfect as a little accent lighting for a night stand, dresser, shelf or mantle. Utilises a 25 watt incandescent bulb and comes with generous six foot cord with an inline rotary cord switch allowing ease of operation. This model, #VC129, is entitled “Fairy Moon.” When back lit the imagery is suddenly awaken with a mesmerising soft glow and muted colours. A magical faerie, perched on the benevolent crescent moon, gossamer wings…such magical conversations. Moulded into the reverse right corner of the porcelain panel is “The Porcelain Garden” and “David Delamare.” The bottom of the base is felted to protect surfaces. Although preowned, this piece is in great condition with no chips, cracks nor repairs. Expect some very minor wear commensurate with use. Measurements: 9 1/4” in height x 4 3/4” wide, the base 3 3/4” in diameter. Smoke and pet-free home. Will of course, be carefully parceled to ensure safe arrival to its destination.
