Name inscribed in all three volumes on blank front end paper, dated 1890.A notably well-preserved set, much better than typically found, showing modest rubbing along joints and raised bands, some corners rubbed with minor exposure, small chip of loss at corners. Copiously illustrated with frontispiece portraits and several hundred engravings by noted artists of the era, ranging from full- and half-page to others inset in text.Vol. I dated 1886 on copyright page, Vols.
