Wonderful comprehensive pictorial overview of crossing the continent late in the 19th century and what a tourist could expect to see and encounter. Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embossed cover decorations. Book is approaching 140 years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition. Binding gently age worn, joints slightly scuffed, slight rubbing, remains overall clean and attractive as an object. Text block paper is uniformly lightly toned, light minor age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail showing how this antique book survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books.
