I use the Goldmine grading system. 90% of LPs are play and visually graded. I will note if not play graded. My thoughts on grading: NM I rarely use this grade. LP/Cover will be free of all but smallest defects. More than likely only played a handful of times. Exc A great playing LP with maybe some minor marks and very little surface noise(but there may be some otherwise it would be NM). A very well cared for used record. VG+ The most common for well cared for used records. Will have marks and some surface noise but not enough to ruin the records enjoyment. A solid enjoyable play. VG A fairly well used record. It will be a decent enjoyable play with no skips/jumps but there will be some surface noise(crackles/hiss/etc especially between tracks). There may be some hairline scratches but nothing deep. May play better with a deep clean. VG- A very well used record with quite a few imperfections. It will play with surface noise. Will play through with no skips or jumps but an audiophile may object. If I list it's more than likely a very popular vinyl/group that has value on market. Buy and trade up later. G I will not list unless it's a very rare record. There will be surface noise throughout, dull surface and multiple hairlines/marks. P I will only use this grade on covers. Heavy discoloring and seam splits
