Description: THE INDIA-RUBBER MEN by Edgar Wallace Published by Hodder and Stoughton Publishers, London Undated, but I take this to be the 1929 first edition of this crime thriller from the prolific Edgar Wallace, which takes its title from the disguises worn by a criminal gang. First edition points of: blue cloth boards with darker navy titling to front and spine; list of Wallace titles on the verso of the half title includes no titles later than the 1929 date of this publication; pp 312; publisher's catalogue on the final pages of the volume. No dust jacket. Vintage, pre-owned and with some wear. Blue cloth boards have some small stains on the front boards. Light marks to rear. Rubbed. Spine is sunned. Corners a little knocked with cloth worn. Spines crumpled and a little scuffed. Page edges darkened with some minor marks and minor knocks. Hinge is cracked at the half-title; hinge partially cracked at the rear end paper with webbing exposed. Rear free end paper has some printed figures at the bottom edge. Some small knocks and creases to a few page corners. Pages are toned with age throughout and there is the occasional age-related mark, but overall the pages look good and clean and the binding is still secure. Book is 8vo, measuring approx 7 1/2 x 5 ins. Return accepted if book returned in same condition as received within 30 days of receipt. Return postage not refunded.
