Description: The House of Sleep by Anna Kavan (later republished as Sleep Has His House), in its first edition/printing, published by Doubleday (New York, 1947). Good hardcover with some soiling to the boards as pictured, though the pages are clean and crisp throughout and there is no odour to speak of. I’m not sure what caused the soiling but it doesn’t manifest other than on the outer cloth of the boards as shown in the pictures. No complete dust jacket, but the original jacket flaps have been preserved and are laid in. A really satisfactory copy of the true first, much more so than you might think from the photos due to the crispness of the binding and pages. ~~~~ IF SHIPPING SEEMS EXPENSIVE OR FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, please enquire.
