Rita Gorgonova, Zaremba's hostess, mistress and babysitter, was charged with murder. It was the most notorious murder of the Second Republic. The whole of Poland followed the case at that time. The film is a reconstruction of these events, in particular the process itself. Majewski's painting raises issues related to the functioning of the judiciary emphasizing the fundamental principle of law that conviction requires unquestioned evidence of guilt.
