Description: The Foundation Trilogy - Doubleday edition by Isaac Asimov, no jacket If you're looking for a great classic science fiction epic, this is a great reading copy containing all three of Asimov's Foundation classics: Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation. Due to its cosmetic blemishes, collectors may want to look elsewhere. Here's what I see and captured in the pictures: There's no dust jacket; discoloration on exterior paper, some writing and a library stamp on the inside page (doesn't bother me, but full disclosure!); and a binding that is cracking (see last picture). Although the binding is weak in a spot, it otherwise feels solid. Though be cautioned, some day this might become two books if that one spot near the pages in the last picture is abused. The exterior spine is bright, there are virtually no bumps on the hardback's outer edges, and the paper quality is bright. See the paper on the picture for the chapter that begins with "The mutant." So I think it's a nice reading copy if you want to hold a nice old book that wants to be held. This is the edition most people say is 1951 but in actuality, according to ISFDB, this was published by Doubleday in 1963 - https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?17332 Possibly the confusion is due to the fact that this edition mentioned the 1951 copyright as its only mention of a date. I'm pricing it as a reading copy.
