Description: The Spanish 2 Reales, the first original "Bit Coin" minted in genuine silver nicked named "Two Bits" It was a smaller version of the Spanish 8 Reales Coin, or Spanish Dollar that was often split into pieces or "Bits". The nickname was later used for our U.S. quarter. Minted in the enduring, reliable value of the New World's genuine silver, they became the world's first global currency. They were even accepted as U.S. legal tender until 1857. The obverse features the reigning King of Spain and year. The reverse bears Spain's coat of arms flanked by the pillars of Hercules & the motto "Plus VLTRA" (more beyond) on scrolls around pillars. This design is thought to have inspired the American dollar sign "$". Protected in a crystal-clear tamper-proof holder. Store your bit coin in a mahogany case.
