The Diplomacy of the Confederate Cabinet of Richmond and its Agents Abroad recounts the observations of various operations in Europe, particularly France, carried out by the Confederate States of America, in their effort to present the Southern political position and gain recognition. The author, Dr. Joseph du Bellet emigrated from France to Haiti during the early years of the nineteenth century, and later moved to New Orleans due to civil unrest in Haiti. He dropped the aristocratic "du Bellet" and became known as Joseph Pecquet. Pierre Paul Joseph Pecquet lived in France for much of his life, and tried to persuade the French government to assist the Confederacy during the U. S. Civil War. The book contains correspondence of du Bellet including a letter to the Confederate Secretary of State. We wrote as a propagandist in Paris in support of the Southern Cause. This book presents his observations and activities in support of the South. THIS BOOK IS IN MINT CONDITION This is a limited-edition printing; only 750 copies printed.
