Hubbed spine bears four raised bands lettered in gilt. All edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. Profusely illustrated throughout with both plates and small engravings in black and white. Dual columned. 960 pp. Cover shows moderate external wear. Front hinge has cracked and the back hinge is starting, yet both boards as still well affixed and the binding is sound. Leaves have evenly toned throughout with very little foxing. Unmarked except for previous owner's name and address on front verso endpaper. Small label affixed to the front pastedown top corner for "Siebert & Lilley, Blank Book M'F'R's and General Stationers, Opera House Building, Up Stairs, Columbus, O." A very nice, solid copy.
