Rated by Rob on May 26, 2019 Summary: Hopefully, anyone that goes to install this shifter has a strong mechanical background as the instructions are almost worthless. For example: the instructions state to place the shift cable shifter-end tab on the outside of the shifter mount (this position works for a 3-sp, but not a 4-sp). On a 4-sp such as a 700R4, the tab must go on the inside of the shifter mount to allow the cable eye to reach the connection when in 1st gear (this is never mentioned in the instructions). The package includes a course thread jam nut for the shifter ball...but, the ball and the handle are fine threads! That is just one of the mistakes in the parts package. I installed one previously on a TH350 car which worked great. The 700R4 car was a little more of a challenge due to finally realizing the shifter cable had to be installed different than the instructions stated... Even with all that I would buy more of these TCI Fast-Gate shifters. Cons: 4-sp install, do not place cable tab in front. Does not come with a gate handle spring. Pros: Excellent shifter that works with 3 or 4 speed Great value! Yes, I recommend this product.
