Description: This is a wonderful example of a work by Master Potters Octavio "Tavo" Silveira and Mirna Hernandez. Octavio "Tavo" Silveira won many top awards at the 2005 annual Concorso y Exposicion Artesanal in Mata Ortiz -- including the Grand Prize and Best In Show. Also, he won the Galardon (Grand Prize) at the 2011 Mata Ortiz Concursos and several other subsequent awards. Considering the awards he has won in past Concursos, Tavo is considered to be among the top Mata Ortiz potters. Tavo is featured in Susan Lowell's book "The Many Faces of Mata Ortiz" on p. 178. He is pictured in one of the photos in this listing. Works such as this, from these potters, are hard to find. This piece shows exceptionally well. Although there are no chips, cracks or repairs there are some paint rubbing flaws; please review the images closely. It's priced accordingly as comparable pieces are listed for sale and have sold for more than twice this price. It is a great opportunity to own a great work at a fantastic price. A great show piece standing 10.25 inches tall without the stand (stand included) and is 7 inches wide. This will be double boxed for shipment.
