Description: this is the silnylon version of the tarptent protrail. i used this for roughly 2,000 miles and 100 nights. switched to the dcf version of the protrail when tarptent released it. i have held onto this one thinking someone might want to hike with me or i might need it if my dcf protrail had a problem. neither has happened. trekking pole and stick NOT included. the tent comes with the 4 original easton tent stakes, the stake bag, the tent stuff sack, all the original lines, and two additional side tie lines with line locs. i added those and carried two extra stakes (not included) for those nights that i knew it was going to rain to give me a little more breathing room once it rained and the tent sagged a little due to the silnylon adsorbing water. this tent is fully seam sealed. as a matter of fact, i've sealed it twice. the first time i used silicone with mineral spirits. it worked until getting a tight pitch pulled the seams apart a bit and i got dripped on while it rained. got some seamgrip while on trail and applied it. no leaks after that. even sealed the bathtub floor seams which no one mentions. there are also some silicon stripes painted on floor as non-skid as recommended by tarptent. those just could not be seen in pics. there have been some repairs over the years. there's some gorilla tape over a dime sized tear in the bug netting near the trekking pole notch at the top. there are also several small floor repairs done to small pinholes. never had a floor leak, just saw them one day while holding the tent up and decided to fix them. i never used a groundsheet as it was not recommended, but that does add wear i discovered. there is also a small hole in the bug netting on the door that i've not messed with. as you can see in the pics, i forgot the rear pole while taking pics. i just grabbed a stick and used it. i've also had to do that with the front pole as well. so, that is one of the great things about this tent. very flexible if you are on long hikes trekking poles break or get left behind. i added the option for fedex ground shipping as the postal service around houston has been experiencing serious delays on both inbound and outbound shipments. i always get my stuff, but sometimes it takes an extra 5 days.
