Description: Tuvan People’s Republic existed as an independent country from 1921 to 1944. Republic's total pre-WW2 population was about 90,000. This 1-year type coinage consisted of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 20-Kopeks coins; the entire issue was dated 1934. The number of coins struck is unknown but it’s probably in the low tenth of thousands for such a small population. This 2 Kopeks specimen was struck in aluminum-bronze; the coin is about 18.9 mm in diameter, weights 3.23 grams; reeded edge; XF condition with original patina. This type is rare in any shape or form nowadays as most of these coins were destroyed after the Soviets took over the country in 1944. Only a small fraction of the original mintage survived. Not cleaned with attractive original patina throughout; these are the actual photos.
