The 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 is a high speed zoom lens with a focal length of 28-75 mm, minimum object distance of0.18 m (WIDE) / 0.38 m (TELE) and a maximum aperture of 2.8. The objective gives high definition and spectacular image quality. Special glass elements, LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are used to minimalize optical aberrations. A beautiful bokeh is offered at a wide-open aperture. The AF-drive is equipped with Tamron;s VXD-technology (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive), that provides quick and accurate autofocus. The lens has a Moisture-Resistant construction and Fluorine-coating for extra protection. Achieves an MOD of 0.18m (7.1 in) and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. The objective has excellent macro shooting capabilities. The shortest Minimum Object Distance (MOD) is only 0.18 m at 28mm-wide angle and 0.38 m at 75 mm telephoto. The working distance is only 4.4 cm. With the highest possible maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, highly detailed macro shots are possible. Outstanding high-resolution performance delivers an unprecedented photo experience. The optical construction has 17 elements in 15 groups. Two LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are used to minimize optical aberrations. Image quality shows marked improvements over the 1ste generation. The model has the same light weight and compact size, while achieving significant improvements to resolution and overall performance across the entire zoom range.
