Tailgate Check for Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU 2011-2018

Description: 2011-2018 Jeep JK JKU Tailgate Check Strap. Made in the USA by an Independent Shop! The tailgate check features a removable paracord braid! The paracord is attached the to brackets with a mini 4mm stainless steel bow shackle at each end. 3 key features to the removable braid are 1) it's removable. Say you want to open your tailgate past the limits of the strap, or remove the tailgate. Simply remove the pin from the shackle. 2) It's replaceable. If it breaks, or you want to change the color...now you can with ease. 3) If you buy a two colored braid you can switch which color is on the outside by flipping it over. The check strap and brackets replace the OEM check that comes on a 2011-2018 Jeep JK/JKU. The OEM unit has a tendency to separate, when the tailgate is opened too far. Especially in the case of an oversize tire mounted on to the tailgate. it just isn't designed to take much load before breaking. Our strap is made with a set of welded steel brackets with a 550 paracord braid for added strength. Mounts with existing hardware/screws. If you require new screws, please let me know at the time of order. Please note, two color braids have a splice in the braid which reduces the strength of the braid. If you are the type of person that yards on your tailgate or let’s it swing free, your best option is to select a solid color! The strap is made of braided paracord. I have several colors available (see picture with samples). I can also combine any 2 colors, you just have to let me know which color you want in the inner and outer. For example, the red + black sample picture has red as the outer color and black in the inner. Other colors are available, just ask.
