Description: You are looking at a very rare TAG Heuer. This is the black faced TAG Heuer 980.021N men's 1000 professional watch. This watch is a true survivor. What makes it super rare is that it is the Jumbo version of the 1000 men's models. These models were made for a very short time. They are in high demand due to their 42mm case and vintage look. I am a Tag Heuer collector and I own over 225 Tag Heuer watches. I currently have quite a few for sale. It was simply time to clean out the closet. It is the jumbo men's size 1000 series TAG watch with a case size of about 42mm (45mm crown included). The crystal is in near mint condition with a fine scratch near the 15 position. The back casing is in very good condition with light wear scratches. There are 2 bands. The attached bracelet is a brand new aftermarket stainless steel & gold plated jubilee band. It is made to look like the original TAG band. The bracelet and clasp are in near mint unworn condition. I am also including the original TAG band. I have posted photos of the watch with the new band installed and photos with the old band installed. The bezel is in excellent condition with light scratches. The hands and hour markers look great. I would rate this true survivor as a solid 9 out of 10 in condition. These are hard to grade since you don't see any for sale. This is the nicest example of a 980.021 I have seen in a long time. Most are beat up, but not this one. This one is ready to wear. The watch is all original and will fit up to a large 9 inch wrist with the new band. It will fit up to a 7.35" wrist with the original TAG band installed. If you need extra links let me know. I can get them for about $75 each. The bezel turns and clicks in the counter clockwise direction, as it should. This model has a quartz movement. My local watchmaker just completely serviced the watch. It is ready to go another 30 years. I always recommend having the seals tested before wearing in water. I do not guarantee water resistance in a watch of this age.
