Description: Up for your consideration is a 1909 T206 White Border card featuring Chicago White Sox catcher Billy Sullivan. This Piedmont 150 issue has been graded a 2.5 GD+ by SGC. This one pops due to fantastic color and registration. About Sullivan: - Billy caught for the White Sox for 13 seasons, including in 1906 when the team won the World Series over the favored crosstown Cubs. - Sullivan was notoriously poor with the bat but made up for this with excellent defensive skills - he was rated among the best defensive catchers of his era - even today Billy ranks 11th all-time for stealers thrown out, successfully gunning runners at an impressive 50% clip.- His son, Billy Jr., also caught in the majors. Junior was much better in the batter's box but didn't have his father's defensive acumen. The pair became the first father-son duo to both play in a World Series when the younger played in the 1940 Fall Classic. The pictured card is the item you will receive.
