Step 2Open the release valve: Open the large plastic round pressure relief valve. When you open the valve, you hear a hissing sound, which is the sound of air being released from the pump. Before proceeding, make sure the sound stops completely. Step 3Remove the strap and cap: Remove the strap from the pump and set it aside. Open the lid of the pump and find a long cylinder with ridges on it. Step 4: Find and remove the filter: Once you have found the filter, lift it up and remove it from the pump.
