Description: This listing is for a Sweet 1950s 2-Toned Mexican Embroidered Tourist Jacket w/Fringe Size XS/S. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s. This unusual jacket is a lovely bluish gray with a partial white front and pockets. It also has turquoise colored fringe, which is rare, down the front, and turquoise and white cross stitching. It has a ton of interesting embroidery that depicts village life including villagers, a donkey, and many types of flora inherent to the plants found in Mexico. This jacket is circa early to mid 1950s when 2-toned jackets were introduced, and fringe added a few years later. This jacket is in beautiful condition with no holes, stains, or missing threads, and the embroidery work is very well executed by a skilled embroiderer. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable. Most are a size S or M.
