Rancho Alegre, also known as Plateria Rancho Alegre, was a premium venue for artisans and designers in Taxco, Mexico that operated from 1956 to 1986. The shop was established by Pedro Perez, a former shop manager for William Spratling's Taller de Las Delicias. Miguel Garcia Martinez, the shop's head designer, created a pre-Columbian design featuring the plumed serpent diety Quetzalcoatl in the shop's studios. During the 1960's, Rancho Alegre became one of the largest retailers of Mexican silver, and served as an outlet for many of the finest designers and silversmiths.
