Description: Maker: The renowned porcelain decorating studio of Franziska Hirsch produced this exquisite antique cabinet bowl. Hirsch's studio was in business in Dresden, Germany, from 1893 to 1930, producing exceptional works in the Meissen and Vienna styles. It was one of the original four Dresden porcelain decorating companies, known for its vibrant and finely detailed designs and for its superb quality. Marks and age: The studio's early H mark is on the base. A green white ware mark of the C.T. Altwasser company of Silesia also appears. It's partially covered by a gold flower, as is common in Dresden porcelain of that era. The Hirsch mark was in use from 1893 to 1930. Source: Dresden Porcelain Studios by Jim and Susan Harran. Design: The lovely gold trimmed bowl features displays of finely detailed flowers against a background of fine thin pure white porcelain. The design continues on the bowl's 6 sides. Condition: The bowl is in excellent condition for its age and fragile material with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or significant wear. There is embedded dirt on the bottom - it's visible in the photos. Size: The bowl is 10 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches tall and weighs 1 pound 8 ounces. Please check all the photos very closely - they are an important part of the description.
