SUSAN HAYWARD (1939 / PARAMOUNT ) 8" X 10" DOUBLEWEIGHT KEY BOOK PHOTO IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (Very slightly toned, a tiny nick out of the surface to the right of Susan's head, and a small handling crease towards the bottom). Sometimes white stripes will appear in scans of photos that have large black areas. This striping is caused by the scanner. These stripes are not on the actual photograph. This is an authentic movie studio photograph from the time period represented by the photo, used for publicity and promotional purposes at the time of the movie's release. Movie photos (or stills) were produced in limited numbers, and sent from the studio's publicity department to select theaters and the contemporary newspaper wire services, which has led to them sometimes being referred to as "Wire Photos". These pictures were taken by some of the most talented photographers in the world, and are really works of art in their own right. They were printed in limited quantities, and in the cases of some key book stills, large double weight photographs, and even standard 8 X 10s in excellent condition, fewer than 10 prints may exist today.
