Description: Maker: This beautiful pierced or reticulated porcelain bowl has the underglaze mark of Donath & Co, widely recognized as one of the great Dresden decorating studios. Created in 1872, Donath produced exceptional works in porcelain over four decades. In 1916 it merged with the Richard Klemm company. The joint company was taken over by Hutschenreuther in 1918 and the Donath name was retired. Marks and age: The studio's blue crown mark with the word Dresden is on the bowl's base. The mark was in use from 1893 to 1916. Source: Dresden Porcelain Studios by Jim and Susan Harran. Design: The bowl features finely painted multicolor flowers and rich gold gilding, with pierced or reticulated sections that accent the floral displays. Condition: It's in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or wear. The reticulated sections are intact. Size: The bowl is 4 3/4 inches wide, 1 3/8 inches tall and weighs 3.6 ounces. Please check all the photos very closely - they are an important part of the description.
