Description: Superbly crafted and beautifully tactile with sensual scrolls and curves. An item that was made for a period of time synonymous with opulence, grandeur and above all quality. These solid door handles are made from brass or bronze - I am not quite sure and are over 100 years old and will easily last another, unlike some of today’s rubbish. Since being reclaimed they have not been renovated in any way so still maintain their unique patina. They could of course be cleaned if so desired. They measure around 10 3/4 inches wide while weighing in over 1300grammes. The base plates carry a mark which appears to read R318614 although I could be mistaken. Obviously, a functional item of this age has been subject to wear and tear and potential weathering over the years. They may also show minor differences due to the original manufacturing process so please bear this in mind. Having said that they are in lovely condition with no detrimental faults detected although there is a slight colour difference between the two with one also having what looks like hammer head marks underneath the handle body itself.
