Description: An incredible genuine antique Essex Crystal of supreme quality, fabulously finely hand crafted to depict a Westie, aka West Highland White Terrier dog! Essex crystals are domes of natural rock crystal, reverse carved and then reverse painted, all by hand in a meticulous and time consuming process by master craftsmen, to create a real 3d image that jumps out at you. Coupled with forced perspective techniques and the magnification effect of the domed crystal, this gives a uniquely lifelike impression as the subject moves - there's nothing like a genuine, high quality antique Essex Crystal. This is one of the deepest and most detailed I've ever come across...each tuft of fur is painstakingly reproduced, the pronounced 3d effect meaning shading and light reflections are genuine and look amazing as the light moves across, giving life and character. Every aspect is wonderfully finely carved and painted, from his expressive eyes and ears, to his hair to the little hint of tongue from his mouth!
