Description: 6” Oxblood Red Studio Pottery Orb Vase, Artist Signed, Sodium Silicate Textured, Mystery ArtistObject: This auction is for a very special oxblood red orb vase with an amazing, shimmery, highly textured surface created with a sodium silicate glazing process. Photos can't do justice to this piece. The artist is unknown, but it is signed on the side of the foot with what looks like "Uhm" or "Wlm." The inside and base are also glazed the rich oxblood red but they are smooth and glossy. Upon very close inspection, there are a few very tiny white spots on the peaks of some of the textured surfaces. These are very hard to see unless looking for them and could be from the handmade texturing process or from age and storage. It's hard to tell. Please see last photo. Any other irregularities in shape or glaze, or any fleabites, etc. would be from the handmade process. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition.
