Description: Gorgeous vintage brown leather executive portfolio/ lap desk made in England. Has the "Strand 1755" gold insignia in the lower right corner. Measures 14" wide by 9 1/2" tall and 3/4" thick. Has snap closure on front which opens up to desk. Top of desk is held upright by 2 ribbons and has interior pockets and little calendar cards which are complete and unwritten on. The bottom has side blotters and a firm work surface. The back is a soft ivory velveteen fabric so that it would sit comfortably on your lap. The whole piece is in very good condition...there is some spotting on the front (probably from rain droplets); one indented area near the top front (see closeup); the area underneath the snap is slightly lighter than the rest of the front; a scuffed area on the lower right corner on the blotter and on the top right corner of the back; plus a few other minor scuff marks and scratches. But I would call this more "patina" than anything else; the leather has no tears, has a beautiful coloring and the stitching is all intact. This is a great vintage piece!
