Description: This is a rare January 1999 playbill from the four-week, Actors' Playhouse production of the STEVE MARTIN comedy "PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE" at the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, Florida. (The play premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre on October 13th, 1993. This engagement began previews on January 20th, 1999, officially opened January 22nd, 1999 and closed February 14th, 1999.) ..... The play centers around the characters of Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, who meet on October 8th, 1904 at a bar called the Lapin Agile (French for "Nimble Rabbit") in the Montmarte district of Paris. Both men are on the verge of disclosing amazing works (Einstein will publish his Special Theory of Relativity in 1905 and Picasso will paint Les Demoiselles d'Avignon in 1907). At the Lapin Agile, they have a lengthy debate about the value of genius and talent, while interacting with a host of other characters .....
