Description: This amazing starfish was made in Italy specifically for Ruzzetti and Gow. Theirs was a well known, exclusive shop, opened in the 90's in New York City. They started a trend and became known for utilizing seashells and other marine animals in unusual and creative ways. Ruzzetti and Gow became well known for their silvered crustaceans and starfish.Unfortunately, after many years, their partnership broke up and their business closed. This unique and lovely starfish is one of their amazing pieces. It is a resin base that is fully sterling silvered. Their workshop for these specialty silver pieces were done in Italy, operated by the same family that for generations did restoration for the Vatican. I did not polish this piece. I felt I would leave it at the discretion of whomever buys it. There is a couple of places on the Starfish where the ossicles have chipped (I have tried to show in my pictures), it in no way detracts from its beauty and uniqueness, as my pictures hopefully has shown. Measures: 11" across Is marked 925 on the undersideweight: approx. 1 lb. 6oz.
