Description: Stephen King, Pet Sematary. Doubleday, 1983. Hardcover Book in Dust Jacket, Stated First Edition on Copyright Page. ISBN 0-385-18244-9. Condition of the book is good. Text block is good, has a slight lean to the right, previous owner's name on inside pastedown page but no other writings or markings. Corners good, lettering on book remains shiny gold. Deckled edges good but show some age yellowing. The dust jacket is good, unclipped price of $15.95, shows wear and bumping with some small tears as indicated by my pictures, which are of the actual book being offered for sale. Page 374 has the gutter code Y38 at the extreme right near bottom, which supposedly indicates true first printing. Colors on jacket remain bright and clear. For a King of this age (41 years!) the book remains in good condition. When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers... like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.Behind the "pet sematary", there is another burial ground, one that lures people to it with seductive promises... and ungodly temptations. A blood-chilling truth is hidden there - one more terrifying than death itself and hideously more powerful. An ominous fate befalls anyone who dares tamper with this forbidden place, as Louis is about to discover for himself. Classic Stephen King before he got very commercial. just in time for Halloween or Christmas giving for King collectors!
