Leia Organa, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 are also on the Falcon. The interceptors are guarding a cluster of Sand Crawlers floating out in space. Then, a TIE Advanced x1 advances toward the planet with the Falcon in hot pursuit. They follow it into a Sand Crawler. As they step into the factory, they notice remnants of old Imperial weapons and machines, such as a wrecked AT-ST. It's then that they meet Perek, an artist. He explains that he's making the weapons and machines into art. Meanwhile, back on the Falcon, C-3PO and R2-D2 are attacked by robotic insects. These insects transform 3PO and R2 into giant war machines. At the factory, Han, Luke, and Leia see the same bugs. Luke explains that the look similar to the bugs that are attracted to the stench of a Jawa. Luke then senses Jawas nearby. He sees them, and kills them with his lightsaber. Han and Leia are surprised by this, but realize that the Jawas are robots. Chewbacca then arrives, being chased by the transformed 3PO and R2. They both capture Chewie, Leia, and Han and carry them away into the factory. Luke finds a secret passageway inside the factory and goes into it. Perek then reveals himself as an android and attacks Luke. Perek starts to explain how he uses Jawas and their "face bugs" to spread the infection. Han then throws a spark grenade in the main energy source and destroys it. This ultimately infects Luke's hand so he cut it off with his lightsaber, killing Perek. Wounded, the group leaves in the Falcon. "The Value of Proper Intelligence to Any Successful Military Campaign is Not to Be Underestimated" 2 pages Writer: Ken Lizzi Artist: Lucas Marangon Letterer: Steve Dutro On the planet Gibbela, an agricultural world well off any trade routes, a tiny humanoid native farmer is farming on a plot of land. A small Imperial contingent lands on the farm in a Sentinel-class landing craft, planning on taking over the planet. Several stormtroopers and an officer disembark the shuttle and demand that the farmer surrender. However, much to the Imperials' surprise, the farmer transforms into a gigantic clawed beast and kills all of them. The creature shrinks back to its original size and continues its fieldwork, using the remaining armor and weapons of the deceased Imperials as farm equipment. In the future, spacers avoid Gibbela because of its deadly inhabitants. "Rather Darkness Visible" 10 pages Writer: Jeremy Barlow Artist: Greg Tocchini Inker: Eddie Wagner Colorist: Michael Atiyeh Letterer: Michael Heisler On Katanos VII, Jedi Knight Lunis and his Padawan Obs Kaj investigate intelligence that the miners of the planet are performing illegal cloning experiments. Obs Kaj has grown disillusioned with the state of affairs in the Republic and secretly plans to leave the Jedi Order after the mission. However, when they arrive, they discover that they have walked into an ambush. The miners reveal that as profits from the cortosis mines declined, they looked to the Galactic Senate for support, but were spurned, and they began cloning operations to earn the necessary income. Their cloning attempts failed, and eventually they turned to the Confederacy of Independent Systems when they learned about the bounties that had been placed on Jedi. As the miners attack the Jedi, Obs Kaj feels cut off in the Force from her Master, a result of her distancing herself. Lunis eventually falls and Kaj flees, escaping in a short-range shuttlepod. As she leaves the planet's surface, broadcasting a distress call, a ship makes contact with her. When it approaches, she realizes it is in fact Count Dooku, who promptly fires upon her, blowing her craft from the sky. When Dooku later makes contact with the miners, he says he will only pay for the death of Lunis, half of what they expected and not enough to keep the mines afloat. "The Rebel Club" 8 pages Writer: Scott Kurtz Artist: Scott Kurtz Colorist: Jim Zubkavich Letterer: Robert Kirkman Han Solo (Bender), Leia Organa (Claire), Luke Skywalker (Brian), Chewbacca (Allison), and R2-D2 serve detention under Darth Vader (Principal Vernon) for participating in the Rebellion. They eventually escape thanks to the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Carl the janitor). "The Lost Lightsaber" 8 pages Writers: Andrew Robinson & Jim Royal Artist: Nuria Peris Inker: Kris Justice Colorist: Tom Smith Letterer: Steve Dutro The young Jedi Ben Skywalker recovers his grandfather's lightsaber from a group of Dark Jedi who are attempting to fuse dark side energies into it. "Into the Great Unknown" 10 pages Writer: Haden Blackman Artist: Sean Murphy Colorist: Dan Jackson Letterer: Steve Dutro Sometime after the Battle of Endor, Han Solo and Chewbacca, respectively the Human pilot and Wookiee co-pilot of the YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon, run afoul of an Imperial fleet after leaving the moon Hovan 99. As they evade a Star Destroyer and several TIE Fighters, Solo takes the Millennium Falcon blindly into hyperspace rather than taking the time to calculate jump coordinates. The ship emerges in an unfamiliar system that contains several planets and moons, and the pair lands on a blue world after detecting life on it. The ship's rear repulsorlift controls give out on their way into the planet's atmosphere, causing the Millennium Falcon to crash into a forest that reminds Solo of the moon of Endor. As they search for a settlement, Solo and Chewbacca are attacked by a group of Humans who wield spears, bows, and axes. Chewbacca fights them off with his bowcaster and his own strength, knocking some of them off a cliff to their demises, but Solo is struck by several arrows and begins to slowly bleed to death. Anticipating that he will not survive, he asks his co-pilot to return him to the Millennium Falcon, where he passes away in the captain's chair. 126 years later, three Humans make their way through the same forest-an archaeologist named Dr. Jones, his sidekick Shorty, and their guide, in search of a legendary monster that has been sighted in the area. Chewbacca watches from afar as they come across the Millennium Falcon, board the ship, and discover Solo's skeleton. The skeleton feels familiar to Jones, and, rather than continue his search for the monster, he decides to leave it as part of the "Great Unknown". "Storyteller" 8 pages Writer: Jason Hall Artist: Paul Lee Letterer: Steve Dutro Sometime long after the Battle of Yavin, the wicked Vindar have forced their neighboring race into slavery and rule them with an iron fist. The Vindar have tortured, burned, and killed many members of the other race, thus breaking the spirits of most of the race's people—but not that of Otalp. Since he was young, his den-mother told him of the mysterious "Oracle" she saw in one of her visions. The Oracle is said to tell tales of the past to give hope for the future. Otalp's den-brother, Remoh, disagrees with this, but only travels with Otalp to escape the misery of their eternal slavery. When they reach the cave where The Oracle is fabled to live, Remoh says "I have a bad feeling about this." As they enter the cave, they come across a certain protocol droid sputtering about a tragedy that occurred when he was last deactivated. The droid says strange words, like "Ar-Too" and "Master Luke", which confuses the brothers. As soon he starts talking in a understandable language, Otalp requests a story from him. Though the droid admits to being not that good a storyteller, he decides, because Otalp and Remoh came so far, to tell them the best story he knows. The story of young boy from a desolate planet who redeemed a darkened soul and freed the galaxy from the clutches of the ultimate evil using a mythical tool known as a "lightsaber". As the droid tells this story, the two brothers imagine it all as though it were their own kind who were fighting the fights. Just after the storyteller has concluded his tale, the Vindar blasts his head off. While Remoh hides, Otalp claims that he came alone. The Vindar kills him and leave to attend other matters. As Remoh gazes over the petrified corpse of his brother, he notices an oddly shaped metal rod poking out of the storyteller's severed torso chest. Remoh notices it has a button and pushes it. A glowing, green blade appears from the rod. Realization dawning on him, he starts to think of a way to free his desolate planet from the clutches of their ultimate evil.
