Description: Stanwell is the standard for Danish factory pipes. The combination of the registration number and the "Made in Denmark" tell us that this pipe comes from the earliest era of Stanwell pipes, from before 1970. The stem has no "s" mark, making it very likely that it has been replaced. It fits well, both in alignment and being tight in the stemmel. Check out the pictures and ask questions. The wear a pipe has gained in its life is apatina, a story, its own personal history. Therefore, we do not try to return it to "like new" condition. When you buy a pipe from us, you can expect a "refreshed" pipe: The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, ready to smoke out of the box. The bowl has been reamed, but we leave enough cake so that you do not need to break it in again. Stems have been cleaned and sanitized, and vulcanite stems have been de-oxidized and polished. Stems may have some teeth marks. When needed, stems are replaced (this will be noted in the description). Any repairs made will be noted in the description and/or title. The bowl has been cleaned of previous smoking ("ghosting") using the time-tested saltand alcohol method. Briar pipes have the char removed from the rim (as possible), and the outside of the pipe has been cleaned, treated with a restoration balm, and buffed with carnauba wax.
