I say all the better go it. And although this is the last in a very popular run of this batch of Boxelder dye jobs, it will not be the last. I sourced this stock locally from tree trunks that were removed by the arborist due to extensive damage from this woods natural invasive wood beatles who carry a gut full of bacterial fungi whose digestive byproduct causes the red and pink staining we normally find in this wood. Happily it also softens the wood and makes it exceptionally receptive to dyes. Thus my choice of emerald green for this small batch. The stabilization process done by K&G Finishing has changed this once pulpy soft interior heartwood into a hard dense material that will tolerate grinding, sanding, buffing and polishing that will turn them into one of a kind handles or grips that catch the eye and generate comments and compliments.
