Description: Springfield, MO photo folder woman w dark curls, glasses, 1914 by Simon Wickiser This narrow brown folder is a nice one. It measures about 8.375 x 3.375 inches when closed. There is a cameo embossed on the front. Photo measures 3.75 x 1.75 inches. The woman pictured tilts her head and looks slightly amused. Her mass of dark curls frame her face, and she wears rimless glasses. There is no identification of the woman. Some edge and corner wear to folder. In lower part of image, below portrait is embossed:"Wickiser431 South St.Springfield, MO." Simon H. Wickiser was an early photographer in Springfield. He began there in 1888, and operated out of studios at various addresses until his death in 1916. He was at this South Street address from 1912 to 1915. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able.
