They are very clean and shiny, top and bottom, without crazing, chips, cracks, deep scratches, dark utensil markings, or dishwasher film, and the base bottoms show no signs of use. Every plate offered has been closely inspected and the only thing noted was an occasional tiny and light superficial (clear) mark consistent with minimal (single) use and/or storage.
