Special Military Edition Goebel Hummel Crossroads/Berlin Wall Figurines w/Base

Description: Available for purchase is a collectible limited-edition Hummel figurine set made in Germany by Goebel. It's a special Freedom Edition of the "Crossroads" figurine (#331) that comes with a separate figurine depicting the dismantled Berlin Wall. The set also includes a wood display base with a brass plaque that reads "With esteem and grateful appreciation to the United State Military Forces for the preservation of Peace and Freedom". This special edition set was sold exclusively through the U.S. Military Base Exchange in 1992 and 1993. It was produced in a worldwide limited edition of 20,000 sets. The "Crossroads" figurine stands about 6 1/2" tall and the base is @4 1/2" long. The Berlin Wall figurine is 3 1/8" tall and 4 1/2" long. The underside of both pieces are marked with a special stamp depicting American and German flags. The Berlin Wall figurine is also marked with the same inscription as the wooded base and is numbered "08133 of 20,000". I purchased this at a recent estate sale. It comes with its original box.The condition of this Hummel set is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. The wood base is also in EXCELLENT shape. The box shows some light wear and the internal foam has some age discoloration. It would make a fine addition to any collection or a wonderful gift for your favorite Veteran or Active Duty person.
